Tannis Harrison has over 20 years experience working as a licensed physiotherapist in private practice, community, and hospital-based settings. Since receiving her Bachelor of Medical Rehabilitation in Physical Therapy at the University of Manitoba in 1993, she has continued to pursue education and training to upgrade her skills including but not limited to specialized training in foot and ankle bio-mechanics and treatment, vestibular issues, level 3 musculoskeletal training with the Canadian Physiotherapy Association as well as extensive acupuncture training which she uses in conjunction with soft tissue release techniques to reduce pain, improve joint bio-mechanics and increase muscle strength. She is generous in sharing her passion for physiotherapy with others and is experienced working with patients from diverse backgrounds including elderly, youth, and athletes. Whether having a one-on-one conversation with a client about their specific needs, presenting to a team of dragon boaters to help them avoid injury, or empowering a women’s business networking group to increase work productivity through movement, her expertise and passion for improving the health and well-being of others is inspiring. Tannis has a unique ability to develop rapport and set clients at ease as she completes thorough biomechanical assessments, designs and implements effective treatment plans and exercise programs to achieve their health and fitness goals. Her commitment to client care was recognized with a 2019 Comox Valley Physiotherapist of the Year award. Outside the clinic, her dogs Winnie and Kiwi keep her active, as well as paddle boarding, kayaking, hiking, weight training and cycling.
