Angela Ring, MSW, RSW:
I am a registered Social Worker who has been employed with the Nova Scotia Health Authority both within Adult Mental Health and Addictions for the last fourteen years. I have training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) to address emotional/relational difficulties, general anxiety and depressive conditions. I am certified in Eye Movement and Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR) which has led to enhanced skill development to effectively treat post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). I am trained in the World Professional Health Association for Transgender Health (WPATH) and have assisted transgender folks with documentation and support for gender transitions.
My practice is facilitated by a person-centered, non-prescriptive and attuned approach which includes a fundamental belief that you are the expert of your own life and have the inherent capacity to reach your own personal potential. In partnership, we will develop an integrated treatment plan to assist with meeting your own unique needs and valued goals.
I live in the beautiful Annapolis Valley with my husband and our two, sweet dogs.
I am pleased to join the Mid-Valley Health Team!
